Terms
Tiny Swords Wars · last updated 5 October 2026 (the first terms)
Short version: the game is free. Play fair, keep names and maps decent, and publish only what you made or may share. A map you publish may be played and copied by anyone, under your name. Anyone can tell us about illegal content at contact@tinyswordswars.com; when we take down something of yours, we tell you why, and a person looks again if you ask.
Who we are
Tiny Swords Wars (the game at play.tinyswordswars.com, its site at tinyswordswars.com and its itch.io page) is made by Santi Herranz, an independent developer based in Spain. These terms are the rules for using it; what the game keeps about you is in the privacy policy. Contact: contact@tinyswordswars.com, in English or Spanish (about your data: privacy@tinyswordswars.com).
The game
- The game is free: no payments, no ads. It is young and changes often: rules, balance, maps and screens may change, and a feature may go.
- It runs on a best effort: a server may restart or stop, and a match in progress may be lost with it. There is no promise that the game, your rating, your history or your maps will always be there.
Playing and accounts
- Anyone may play as a guest. If you are under 16, play as a guest, with your parents' or guardian's say.
- An account is for players aged 16 or over (or the lower age of digital consent in their country): one person, one account. Keep your email safe: whoever can read it can sign in as you.
- Your name (a guest's or a registered one) is public. It must not insult, harass or threaten, be sexual or hateful, pass you off as someone else (a real person, the game or its bots), or carry anyone's personal data. We may reset a name that breaks this.
Fair play
Do not:
- cheat: change the game, read what the fog hides, or use exploits or bugs to win;
- let a program play for you (the game's own bots are the only ones);
- boost a rating: lose on purpose, play your own second account, or trade wins (the fair play rules already take the points of such matches away);
- attack, flood or overload the servers, or get round their limits;
- harass other players, in a match, a name, a map or a cup.
Found a bug that gives an edge? Tell us at contact@tinyswordswars.com instead of using it.
What you publish
- What you make stays yours: your maps, their names, descriptions and tags, your cups' names.
- By publishing a map you give us, and every player of the game, a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store it, show it (its picture and numbers too), play it, and copy and change it into maps of their own, which always credit yours ("based on its name by its author"). You can take a map out of the search, or delete it, at any time: its published versions go, but the copies other players made while it was published stay theirs.
- Publish only what you made, or may share under these terms. Nothing illegal, nothing that insults, harasses or threatens, nothing sexual or hateful, no one's personal data, no ads or spam, and no copy of another player's map passed off as yours (copying through the game credits it).
- The game's art is Tiny Swords by Pixel Frog, licensed for the game: you may not take it out of the game or share it on its own. The game's code, rules, texts and sounds are ours.
Reports and moderation
- An automatic word filter refuses some words in the public texts of maps and cups (names, descriptions, tags) before they are published. It is the only moderation a machine does; everything below is a person's. (What else the game decides on its own, as the fair play rules and idle detection, is in the privacy policy.)
- Signed-in players can report a published map in the game (its page, Report). Only the game's administrator reads reports.
- Anyone, signed in or not, can tell us about content in the game they believe is illegal by writing to contact@tinyswordswars.com with: where it is (a link, or the map's or player's name), why it is illegal, your name and email, and that you write in good faith. We confirm we got it and tell you what we decided.
- What we may do when something breaks these terms or the law: hide a published map (one version or all of them), reset a name, or, when it is serious or repeated, close the account. We act in proportion and look at the case, not only the rule.
- When we restrict something of yours, we tell you why: what we did, the facts, and the rule or law it breaks. A hidden map says so in the map editor, beside its version; anything else, by email to your account's address. If you disagree, write to us (or answer that email): a person looks at it again, and we put it back if we were wrong. You can also turn to an out-of-court dispute body or the courts.
- Authorities, and anyone writing under the EU's Digital Services Act, reach us at the same address, contact@tinyswordswars.com, in English or Spanish.
Ending
- You can stop at any time, and delete your account in the game: Settings → Delete account (the privacy policy says what goes with it).
- We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, telling its owner why, as above.
Responsibility
The game is given as it is, free. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for what is lost when it fails or changes: a match, a rating, a history or a map. Nothing here limits a responsibility the law does not let us limit (harm done on purpose or by gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer).
Changes and law
- When these terms change, this page says so with a new date, and an important change is told in the game's What's new first.
- These terms follow Spanish law. If you live in the EU as a consumer, you keep the protections of your own country's law and may go to its courts.
